Still Stuck Using 20th Century Technology?
You wouldn’t be, if you were using Minute-2-Minute, the quick and easy way to time your computer work.
If you’re a computer professional who needs to track your work at the keyboard - as a programmer, transcriber, virtual assistant, or one of the many other jobs that require billing clients on an hourly basis - there’s some good news!
We’ve just released version 2 of our award winning project timing application: Minute-2-Minute.
A Real World Solution
Before we tell you about the exciting new enhancements to Minute-2-Minute, let’s go back to mid-2005. We were working on a variety of computer programming projects, and using a stopwatch and pencil and paper to keep track of our work.
And, of course, at the end of the month or billing period, it was a matter of transcribing the hours into a statement that had to be prepared for the client. This required anywhere from 15 minutes to over an hour for each project…depending on the amount of work performed and the needs of the client.
It seemed to us there had to be a better way.
There was…and Minute-2-Minute was born.
Simple and Efficient
We originally created Minute-2-Minute for our own, internal use. We knew it had to have an accurate way of timing the work, and our initial efforts were disappointing. Computer timers can be inaccurate up to several seconds each minute…which translates into a serious problem over a full work day. The solution lay in the utilization of an

extremely accurate internal timer that is independent of the computer’s system clock. The timer used for Minute-2-Minute has an accuracy of plus or minus a fraction of a second each hour.
Minute-2-Minute is project-based, which means you can switch from working for one client or job to another in just a couple of mouse clicks. Taking a coffee break? No problem. A click of the mouse suspends Minute-2-Minute’s Auto-Trak timer until you’re ready to return to work.
Plus you have the option to use either the built-in timer or manually enter or edit your time, as you prefer.
And, at the end of the month, each client’s statement is produced in less than 15 seconds, with just a few mouse clicks.
Now we could put our stopwatch in the junk drawer and concentrate on getting the work done without worrying about keeping track of our time.
Going Public
After almost a year of using Minute-2-Minute on a daily basis, a visitor to our offices asked to purchase a copy of the program for his personal use. He suggested others might also find it useful in their work.
So we began offering Minute-2-Minute at a very modest price…only $19.95…and the results were unexpected. Lots of people were tired of using last century’s technology to track their computer time.
And as more people began using Minute-2-Minute, we began hearing about some of the things that were left out of the original program. Like daily comments. Statement options. The Auto-Trak timer took up too much desktop space. And more.
After a year of feedback from users, we rolled up our sleeves and went to work on Minute-2-Minute version 2.

Minute-2-Minute's New Main Screen
ü For version 2, we went back to the drawing board and revised the program interface. Now a graphical toolbar provides easy access to the program’s most-frequently used features.
ü Set up your preferred project profile in the default settings and they’re automatically copied to each new project you create.
ü Change your current project’s settings with a single click on the toolbar’s Settings button.
ü Add daily comments to each day’s work. Keep a record of what tasks were accomplished on a given day, and optionally print those comments as part of your statement to the client.
ü Choose from the standard Auto-Trak timing display, or select the new, small Auto-Trak display to minimize the impact on your desktop. With either size timer, optionally minimize it to the Task Bar or System Tray, and recall it with a single mouse click.
ü When printing statements, choose to display running time totals or running currency totals, and show daily comments or just a time summary. You can even omit all detail and just show the total due. Include or exclude statement detail. Minute-2-Minute remembers your choices for each project and recalls them the next time you print a statement for that project.
ü New rounding options are available, including rounding to the nearest or next hour, rounding to the nearest or next dollar, or no rounding. The choices are yours.
ü Support for both the U.S. dollar and European euro is now available.
ü The help file has been completely rewritten, with context-sensitive help available, as always.
